VistaLab publishes about forty papers a year and had them behind a search box that returned nothing useful.

The site was organized around the institution — departments, people, news — when almost everyone arriving wanted one specific paper and knew its title.
We inverted it. Papers became the primary object, with authors, departments and topics as facets. Filters work without JavaScript, so the whole archive is crawlable and weighs 34 KB.
