Project Overview
A portfolio for a studio that shoots architecture, where every photograph is the entire argument.
Problem
The previous site loaded 24 MB on the home page. On a phone it took eleven seconds to show a single image, which is ten seconds longer than anyone waits.
Solution
We rebuilt the gallery around an image ladder that matches the drawn size, and deferred everything below the fold. The home page now weighs 780 KB and paints its first photograph in under a second.
